The Census On line
And other important data bases
------------------------------------------------------------------------
These websites contain mostly segments of the United States and foreign census reports. Some also carry other important on line data bases important to genealogy. Additional links will be added as more volunteer transcribers complete their work and upload it to the different web sites. Right now, very little of the total census is on line. Many counties have no volunteers transcribing. If you really want to see the census on line, consider volunteering. You can contact the GenWeb Census Coordinator at jayken@usroots.com . If you would like to volunteer in any way to assist in the census project, point your browser at http://www.usgenweb.org/census/ . Here you will receive the information you need.

1. I have online bible records at my website, collected from all over US for about 30 years. (More than 1,000) Am posting new ones weekly.
2. Also, I have a (free) genealogy newsletter, called Expert Genealogy.
3.  Have about 1200 books for sale, most of them in the Southeast.

Family Chronicle - Top Ten Genealogy Websites Nominees
Family Chronicle is surveying experienced websurfers to determine which of the web's 1,300+ genealogy sites are not to be missed. We're particularly interested in discovering "hidden gems" -- little-known sites with a lot to offer.

Royal and Noble Genealogical Data on the Web
At this site is Genealogical data for the Royal Family of Britain, but this includes just about all the Royals for Europe. This data is not static and is still being added to.

Bell's Crossroads
This is the cyberspace location of the Bell's Crossroads community (just south of Troutman, North carolina) as it existed between the years 1906--1922. The bulk of the site is a diary kept by John Arch Collins, a farmer who ran a sawmill. It offers a rare glimpse into the daily lives of the people of Bell's Crossroads and like places, their work patterns, community life, religious and social lives, etc. The site may be used as a reference for the Collins family in the SURNAMES table, but many families are mentioned in the diary. Pay it a visit!

Tarheel Roots Web Ring
North Carolina Genealogy and History by the Barrel!
The purpose of the Tarheel Roots Web Ring is to form a circle of web pages featuring North Carolina genealogy and history. The goal is to increase the traffic to the member sites.
Membership in this ring is open to:
•Well maintained sites containing North Carolina genealogy or history.
•Family history homepages that either contain documentation of linages or the authors' clear offer to share documentation upon inquiry.
•Hereditary societies, such as D.A.R. and S.C.V., are welcome.
•North Carolina libraries, county historical and genealogical societies, and NCGenWeb projects are welcome too.
•Commercial members (book dealers for example) should have a substantial collection of North Carolina materials available; not just a half dozen items in a site flooded with things from everywhere else.
•Member pages will not include pornography.

1895 U.S. ATLAS
Please be sure to occasionally check out the front page of this site. This page is usually updated daily so you will know what states are completed, and what letters are completed on the states that are being currently worked on.

Data is being entered from the 1895 World Atlas into table format so those cities which someone cannot find in the 1880 census or the 1900 census, may be found here. Some cities changed names about this time and this data will show the new names. When completed, this table will show the city, state, population, area of the state, whether or not they have a Post Office, R.R. station or an Express Office and if they are a county seat. If a city is a county seat it will be in CAPS and maybe even a different color. Eventually all of the states will be included in this atlas.

THE REASON BEHIND THE PROJECT
Please keep in mind that this project would never have been possible without the foresight of a very dedicated quiet genealogist named Dianne Richards who has been doing research for many years. She was the one who found the atlas ready to be thrown away in someone's old basement and suggested that we put it on the website! If you feel like it, send her a thank you at
